Family Support Systems
Since children don’t come with instruction manuals, BCFS offers guidance and training to new parents and established families. Lessons teach parents how to properly care for their children and encourage developmental growth, and helps families communicate and mitigate conflict.

International Foster Care Sponsorship
While uncommon in America, many countries throughout the world still place children and youths who are abused or neglected, or have lost their parents in orphanages. Some countries struggle with even less sophisticated foster care systems. With the help of sponsors, BCFS’ overseas division, Children’s Emergency Relief International, works to find kinship homes for children so they may have the opportunity to stay close to family members, rather than growing up alone in a communal home.
